Oklahoma City Historic District of Homes
Yesterday marked the 15th Annual Home & Garden Tour of Oklahoma City’s Gatewood Historic District. This year’s featured home was a 1922 Tudor Revival. Simple touches that are distinct of the past are open staircases and homes that open into the kitchen on one side, which are both present in this home.
The Gatewood Historic District is a local organization that donates proceeds to neighborhood projects and keeping the district beautiful and worthy of each year’s tour. The Oklahoma City movers feel that the Gatewood area is a beautiful area to walk your dogs or simply sightsee while getting a walking workout in.

Discover Oklahoma Through Oklahoma City Exhibits
Through a fashion exhibit at the Oklahoma History Center, residents & tourists can see historical fashions that once dominated the Oklahoma City social scene. The showcase, called “Return to Elegance” displays 29 evening gowns from the historical society. These garments were worn by women to inaugural balls, society events and other high profile events between 1912 and 1985.
A separate exhibit is on display at the Pawnee Bill Ranch, which displays Wild West style clothing and history of Oklahoma that pertains to cowboys, Indians and Wild West shows. Tall tales are synonymous with the items on display, such as the tale of Jose Barrera and his ability to rope seven men on horseback. Rock n’ roll styles debut at the Pioneer Woman Museum’s Rock & Roll Gallery, complete with rockabilly looks, poodle skirts, and saddle shoes.
While the Oklahoma City movers have never really associated fashion with history, it makes sense that the fashion of the masses can help to describe a time period. From corsets to suede fringe jackets, the clothing on display helps to share Oklahoma City history through unconventional means. Check out one (or all) of these exhibits and expand your knowledge of Oklahoma City.
Churches Becoming Cooling Stations in Oklahoma City
The heat has gotten so out of hand according to Oklahoma City officials, that the churches in the city are going to be transformed into refuges from the heat. Currently, there are 25 cooling centers which have been operating since June 15 in Oklahoma City public buildings like the libraries and select YMCA branches. However, it simply isn’t enough.
While capacity isn’t a problem, the convenience level could be raised. By having more facilities available, residents are likely to have an option nearby, thereby serving more of the community. The Oklahoma City movers are aware that the temperatures are dangerously hot, so we are glad the city is taking further steps to look towards preventing heat related illnesses. Remember to always keep water with you and stay hydrated–it is hot out there and your body needs it!

Dear Diary,
I realize quite often how useful it is to keep a daily journal. A diary, a log, a notebook… whatever you call it, the advantages are numerous. Keeping a log of your days’ events is a great way to get to know yourself better, and to hold on to little memories that your brain might otherwise discard. In the moving world, keeping a log of each day’s events is very useful.
Reputable Oklahoma City movers definitely keep logs of each move. These notes help to shape effective routines for quicker more efficient future moves. Repeat customers benefit greatly when their mover keeps notes of previous moves on file. This is especially true if the moving company has previously moved their cumbersome belongings, such as a grand piano or a hot tub. Your reputable Oklahoma City movers don’t have an easy job, but logged information definitely helps by standardizing their moving techniques, which simplifies your life any time you are in the market for local moving services in Oklahoma City.
Have a last minute move?
Well, with all of the revelry surrounding Halloween, some may have had to push their moving in date back. If that’s you and you need to move today, don’t panic. Call a local Oklahoma City mover immediately. During the week moves are often the best time to move anyway. Typically there are fewer moves scheduled during the early part of the week. So really a weekday move between Monday and Wednesday could be better on your pocket. You may have to wait until the first jobs of the day are complete, but you can at least relax knowing that in a couple of hours you will be on your way to your new apartment or house. There is no same day fee for moving, so if you encounter that type of scenario, call another Oklahoma City mover. Let me know how your relocation goes. Good moving to ya!
